MODELS PRIOR TO Mk VIII do not have forward tilt but this can be acheived by rotating the camera and using it on its side. The built front standard movements are Rising Front, Cross Front, Front Swing, Drop Front, Back Tilt. There is no built in Forward Tilt. These are in addition to the four way back movements.
PICTURES are of a mid production MkVII MicroTechnical camera, S/No. 93xx.
Right >
Mount the camera on its side when the rotating front (swing) becomes tilt.
Tripod mountings are of the large type but are usually fitted with brass inserts which act as thread reducers and can be unscrewed and moved from one tripod bush to the other.
The drop front is now right swing, the back tilt is left swing and cross front is rising front.
< Left The front standard is held in the 'straight ahead' position by a small catch below the lens. To release the front push the catch back and slightly up. The front standard can now be swung either way - left or right.
The catch and movement are often stiff due to lack of use. A little light machine oil makes operation smoother.
