ROLLFILM HOLDERS
It
is thought that MPP initially sold RADA holders
imported from Germany and mounted in 9x12cm adapters.
Subsequently MPP designed their own robust
caste-outer rollholders for 5x4 fit only. They are
matched to the MkV11 and later cameras for register,
which is essentially the modern universal one.(Price
£12.50 in B.J.A.1961, p43, early type).
Two
formats were made, 6 x 9 and 6 x 6 (2 1/4"
square) and two main types are noted:
|
Early
Type
for MkV11. This has a larger wind knob with ordinary
knurling plus 4 circular grooves. Dimensions are 30mm
dia, and with 15mm protrusion. The film counter
release knob is on the side wall.
Late
Type
for
all models, especially for MkV111. This has a smaller
wind knob with plain knurling. Dimensions are 27mm
dia.and 13.5mm deep to clear the rear sliders on the
MkV111. Here the film counter release knob was placed
on the end of the holder. The late type fits all
models.

be "early" types of rollholder mainly.

SLIDING BACKS
|
Several
types of special quick change back were made,
probably for Police use, as the force used
MicroTechnicals and also needed Berthillon-type
pictures of wrongdoers.
Two
types noted were:Three shot type for fullface,
profile and fullheight (with the subject at a greater
distance.)

likely that one of the commercial advantages of the
MkV11 was that MPP could enter this type of market,
where Linhof and Graphic had already got products on
offer.

PLATE / CUT FILM HOLDERS
|

|
The
Original type was in wood with the MPP name on an
alloy panel, and was for plates. These were used for
film with a cutfilm adaptor, some adaptors being
marked "MPP".Cut Film Holders. Some seem to
have been fitted with permanently mounted adaptors as
"Cut film holders".

Blue type A later series had
an MPP stick-on label blue in colour, now often lost.
Later
Fidelity holders were sold for MkV11 and later
cameras. (Wray Graphic cut film magazine holders),
for quick succession exposures. These were not made by
MPP but were a normal part of M.o.D.MkV111 outfits.

FINDERS
Frame Finders
Several
types of frame finder were mounted on top of the
front standard of MkV1-MkV111 cameras. The simplest
is a rigid push-in type for MkV1 and MkV11. The next
for MkV11 pushes down in the same way, but has a
hinge so that it can remain on the camera when
closed. The MkV111 seems to have used a rather
similar type but it was mounted by pushing sideways
in the top of the standard. All these are apt to get
lost and can be rather difficult to find!
Back Sight
This
was for fitting to the body, for use with the above
front frames. They are a small item, easily
overlooked when buying a camera! It is thought just
one type fitted MkV11 and MkV111.
Sportsfinders
One
piece, are typically ex-M.o.D.and are often marked
14A/ and were designed for S92 cameras with (a) Wray 89mm f6.3
lenses, or Schneider 90mm Angulon, and separately (b)for 184mm ie there
were two main types.
One
piece finder with engraved plastic front screen.
Marking can suit several lenses and will vary.

Zoom Optical Finder.
These
were the Aristocrats of this section, covering
90-360mm.Several types are said to exist, varying in
how far the eyepiece extends, that seen being from
Tewe in Germany, marked "MPP Polyfocus." as
well as "Tewe".(Noted at £26.50
B.J.A.1961, p43).
